Environmental policy

Faced with a context that requires companies in the tanning sector to be increasingly sensitive to environmental sustainability aspects, in the desire to improve their business in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market, the Management of Nord Pellami is committed to pursuing pollution prevention, environmental protection and safeguarding, and improving environmental performance through the adoption of an Environmental Management System in accordance with the international standard UNI EN ISO 14001:2015.

To achieve these goals, we believe it is necessary:

Monitoring the environmental aspects associated with our activities and those of the companies that operate on our behalf
The definition of adequate management tools to monitor both significant environmental aspects and mandatory legislative requirements.
Continuous improvement of one's ability to monitor these aspects.

To achieve the aforementioned objectives, Nord Pellami has created an Environmental Management System that allows:

Have an effective tool to manage activities from an environmental point of view,
Monitor and, if possible, reduce and improve the environmental impacts associated with our activities,
Try, where possible, to spread the commitment to the environment to the companies that operate on our behalf,
Monitor, as far as possible, the environmental aspects relating to suppliers that are significant for us,
Promote awareness-raising activities among suppliers working on behalf of Nord Pellami Srl aimed at increasing their environmental awareness.

With this document we intend to define and make known to external interested parties and to all internal and external operators of the company the principles that we intend to follow in the management of our business, namely:

Full compliance with all mandatory, legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to our environmental aspects and our products,
Promoting a sense of responsibility towards the environment among employees, understood as awareness of the environmental “damage” or “benefits” that may arise from the processes and operating methods implemented;
Controlling and reducing, where possible, the company's environmental impact through the constant search for optimal solutions aimed at reducing pollution sources at their source;
Continuous improvement of environmental performance, to be achieved both by reducing waste of resources such as raw materials and energy
The assessment of the environmental impacts of current activities and of any new activities, products or processes that the Company intends to carry out in the future and of any new goods/services that it intends to use;
The definition and, if necessary, updating of emergency procedures to reduce environmental effects due to accidental situations;
Periodic evaluation of the efficiency of your Environmental Management System;
The use of appropriate forms of communication to make available to the public the information necessary to understand the environmental effects of our activities, aimed at establishing an open and effective dialogue with all interested parties.
This Policy is disseminated throughout the company so that it is known and supported by all staff. It is also made available to the public, ensuring its consultation with external stakeholders.
This Policy is complemented by environmental objectives and targets periodically planned by Management and made known to company personnel and anyone who requests them.
